At Papale Eye Center, each member of our staff has undergone rigorous training in their respective field. In fact, the eye surgeons at our practice - Drs. John Papale and Peter Bouvier - have helped to introduce many of the latest advances in ophthalmology to the Western Massachusetts area, including no-stitch cataract surgery. Dr. John Papale alone has more than 20 years of experience performing eye surgery, and together with Dr. Peter Bouvier, the Papale Eye Center team has more experience with cataract and laser eye surgery than any other LASIK surgeons in the area. It is for this reason that physicians, nurses, and other eye surgeons from Springfield and throughout Massachusetts come to Papale Eye Center for their LASIK and cataract surgery. Our team, led by Dr. Papale, has unparalleled experience! The most important decision you will make regarding eye surgery is the surgeon you choose.

Aside from his appointments at prestigious institutions like Baystate Medical Center, Dr. Papale has earned significant recognition from his peers, including credit as “one of the Best Doctors in America” - as voted by other eye surgeons, and recognition as “one of America’s top ophthalmologists” from the Consumers Research Council.

Dr. Papale is licensed in both Massachusetts and Connecticut and National Board Certified. He is specially trained in the operation of the excimer laser, which is used during LASIK eye surgery, and has completed FDA training for the Summit Autonomous excimer laser, earning full LASIK certification.
In addition to performing laser vision correction surgery, Dr. Papale also specializes in the treatment of cataracts and glaucoma.
