Why Protecting the Skin Around Your Eyes Matters
When it comes to taking good care of your skin, you know that you shouldn’t head out into the sun without wearing an SPF. However, many of us avoid the skin around our eyes when we put on sunscreen because we get nervous that the sunscreen will get into our eyes. Because the skin around our eyes is really thin and sensitive, it makes it extra prone to getting burned, so what can you do to protect it without getting it in your eyes? Let’s take a closer look.
Use a Stick
The last thing you want to do is use a harsh sunscreen spray on your face and risk getting it into your eyes. To help cover the skin around your eyes and eyelids without getting it in them, try using a sunscreen stick. Sunscreen sticks are great because they give you more flexibility when you’re using them and are easy to use around the eyes, nose, and mouth.
Watch the Ingredients
Sunscreens are filled with all different types of ingredients. Try looking for a sunscreen that contains all natural ingredients like zinc and titanium oxide in them. These ingredients are not only excellent at shielding your skin from UVA an UVB rays, but they are less likely to damage your eyes.
Wear Sunglasses
In addition to wearing sunscreen on the skin around your eyes, make sure that you wear sunglasses every time you go outside. Sunglasses aren’t just here to protect your vision, but they are there to protect the skin around your eyes as well. When you’re shopping for new shades, keep this in mind because the more substantial the frames you buy, the more protection you will get.
